The Lists For The Grammy Awards Are Here, Sam Smith Dominates

At the Grammy Awards 2015, Sam Smith will most likely dominate, after British soul sensation scored five nods in the main list of nominations, and all this is ahead before shortlist of the Album of the Year is unveiled on Friday night.

Smith’s hit track “Stay With Me” will compete for the Record of the Year, and it will go against newcomer Meghan Trainor with her debut single “All About That Bass,” Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX with “Fancy,” Taylor Swift for “Shake It Off” and Sia for “Chandelier.”

With the exception of Azalea, the same contenders will also compete for Song of the Year, with Hozier’s “Fancy” instead “Take Me to Church.”

The British artist’s “Stay With Me” will also compete for Best Pop Solo Performance. His song “In The Lonely Hour” will go up against Miley Cyrus for “Bangerz,” Ariana Grande for “My Everything,” Ed Sheeran for “X,” Coldplay for “Ghost Stories” and Katy Perry for “Prism” for Best Pop Vocal Album.

Smith’s fifth nod goes in the Best New Artist category, and in that category he will face with stiff competition from Bastille, Azalea, Halm and Brandy Clark.
For Best Rap Album for The New Classic, Azaela was nominated for the third time in a row.

Beyonce matches Smith with 5 nominations, and she is the woman who has been nominated for a Grammy more times in history than any other woman.
