And just when we thought that we have seen everything getting its reboot, the “Cruel Intentions” reminded us that there are still some movies and shows from the nineties that did not get its sequel.

The film from 1999 originally starred Sarah Michelle Gellar, Selma Blair, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, and for the reboot Sarah is the one who is returning as cruel Kathryn Merteuil. Sarah announced this by posting a split photo on Instagram. On top and bottom photo are the same people – herself, Roger Kumble – the director and Neal Mortiz – the executive producer.

The only difference is that top photo is from the present and the bottom one is the one from the night before they started to film the movie back in nineties. She captioned the photo with: “#throwbackthursday (a bit early in Los Angeles) this picture was taken on the eve of production on the original #cruelintentions. Its me #rogerkumble (director) and #nealmoritz (exec producer) and the other is a picture of us now on the eve of production on the new #cruelintentions. That’s right “everybody loves me, and I intend to keep it that way” #kathrynmerteuil is back!!! I am happy to say that I will be joining them (and @nbctv ) on the new #Crueltv”

If you want to know what the reboot will be about we have few hints. The center of the show will be on Bash Casey, Sebastien Valmont’s and Annette Hargrove’s son. The hidden journal will get him to find out about his father interesting past and will get him on his own path of promiscuity, while Kathryn will continue her evil plans to take over the Valmont International. And another interesting fact that you might did not know, the original movie was based on 18nth century French novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses.
