It has been almost two years since Paul Walker died in a tragic car crash. His daughter Meadow Walker decided to honor her father on his 42nd birthday by launching a foundation that will carry his name.
Meadow who is only 16 year announced on her Instagram that she created The Paul Walker Foundation on Saturday. This foundation will provide scholarships for students and grants for researchers who are involved in marine science, educating or working in that field, since that was Paul’s great love and passion.
“Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions,” she wrote on her Instagram, “His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill. I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world. I want to share that part of him with others.” She also wrote: “I am tremendously proud to be launching The #PaulWalkerFoundation (@paulwalkerfdn) on his birthday, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my father. #DoGood”
He really loved ocean and supported other organizations while he was alive. He even founded his own charity organization Reach Out WorldWide. Late actor’s favorite place Monterey Bay Aquarium became partner with Meadow’s new foundation, together with Ocean Futures Society. His brother Cody Walker will honor his brother by organizing fund raising for Reach Out WorldWide.
He stated for People Magazine: “I don’t know anyone that loves the ocean as much as Paul did. It will always remind me of him. So, on his birthday, that’s where I’ll be. We will have a small celebration for Paul with close friends and family – nothing big. Paul was a low-key guy.”
