Angela Raiola, better known as “Big Ang” from the reality series “Mob Wives” died this Thursday after a long battle with cancer, confirmed her friend Vinnie Medugno on her official Twitter page.
“It is with sad regret that we inform you that at 3:01 AM Angela Raiola peacefully ended his battle with cancer. She was surrounded but love from her immediate family, and closest friends. You, (her fans) were some of the most special people in her world, and she loved you immensely. Thank you for your love, prayers, and unconditional support of Angela right to the very end.
She truly went out richer than any monetary value could ever amount to. The family asks for privacy, and peace during this most difficult time. In typical Big Ang fasion, we know she would say “Love you my babies!” This page will remain open as a celebration of who she was and will always be.” wrote Medugno. In March last year, doctors found in the “Big Ang” throat a tumor the size of a lemon, which was then removed by surgery.
Just three months later, the same tumor was found on the other side of the throat, and she again underwent the surgery, but then the doctors found that the tumor has spread to the brain and lungs. A few weeks ago her family launched a campaign on page GoFundMe, to raise funds for her treatment, and in just two weeks raised $ 45,000. Raiola was in the “The Dr. Oz Show” last year and told that she left her husband because of her illness.
“”I felt like he never stepped up to the plate, so I was done with it,” she said, adding that she would not have survived if it were not for her children. On Thursday many remembered the sentence she usually pronounced in the show: “I’m not here for a long time, I’m here for a good time!”
