In the conflict between the pop star Kesha and producer Dr. Luke, everyone wondered why the representatives of Sony, in which Dr. Luke’s label operates in, did not speak their mind about the whole thing.

As far as Sony, Kesha can collaborate with whomever she wants, however, from this publishing house claiming that they are not included in the contract that the pop star and producer have, which is why they can not affect the items of the contract.

Kesha’s case in recent days attracts great attention, especially after the court decided that in the absence of evidence she has to respect the agreement and collaborates with Dr. Luke, though she accused him of sexual and psychological abuse. “Sony has made it possible for Kesha to record without any connection, involvement or interaction with Luke whatsoever, but Sony is not in a position to terminate the contractual relationship between Luke and Kesha.

Sony is doing everything it can to support the artist in these circumstances, but is legally unable to terminate the contract to which it is not a party,” said the lawyer who represent the company for New York Times. Kesha has a signed contract with Kasz Money Records, which is a label owned by Dr. Luke, which again is part of Sony’s company. However the producer has the freedom to sign contracts with contractors without the consent of Sony’s legal team.

In a past few days Kesha got big support from her colleagues, especially from Lady Gaga who posted the photos of two of them explaining why things need to go in a different direction. Taylor Swift donated 250,000 $ to Kesha, to help her with legal fees, while Adele, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and many others keep publicly supporting her and mentioning her case on their profiles on social networks and public speaches.
