The famous Australian actor admitted publicly on Instagram that recently he had the fifth surgery for skin cancer that was diagnosed to him two years ago.

“An example of what happens when you don’t wear sunscreen. Basal Cell. The mildest form of cancer but serious, nonetheless. PLEASE USE SUNSCREEN and get regular check-ups,”said Hugh Jackman (47) publishing his photo on Instagram after the fifth surgery due to cancer of the skin. He shared that he had a mild form of cancer that is also dangerous.

The actor fell ill two years ago, but he did not hide his health problems from the public. In the past 18 months Jackman had four operations, and the doctors warned him that there will be more surgeries for sure. The illness was discovered after his make-up artist, while preparing him on the film set, warned him about the red spots on his nose. After a detailed review doctors came to conclusion that they were carcinogens.

He said how he always tried to be optimistic but that without the support of his wife Deborah (60) and their two children would definitely sunk in depression. The type of cancer he was diagnosed with is the most common form of skin cancer. It rarely spread but if you don’t remove it on time it may damage tissue that surrounds it. The actor goes to checkups once in 3 months (as should anybody that has ever been diagnosed with this illness) and he launched his own sunscreens for children.

By doing this while he shares his story, he is helping to prevent this diseases to spread among the children. One of the reasons for that is because he thinks he got it for not wearing sunscreen while growing up in sunny Australia. Better safe than sorry, in any case.
