Isla Fisher was born on February 3, 1976, in Muscat, Oman. She is a film actress known for both comedic and dramatic fare like “Wedding Crashers” and “Confessions of a Shopaholic”.

She was born to a Scottish parents, mother Elspeth Reid and a father Brian, who worked for the U.N. as a banker. She spent her early years of childhood in Scotland. After that her family moved to Australia where she entered acting as a child. From a young age, she showed an interest in playing movie roles and writing too. When she was only nine years old, she started to appear in Australian TV commercials.
She landed some small parts in the Australian television series Bay Cove (1993) (aka “Bay City”). This led to a bigger part in the television series Paradise Beach (1993). When that show ended, she landed a role in the long-running Australian soap opera Home and Away (1988). While working on that show, she showed a different kind of passion, writing. She published “Seduced By Fame” and “Bewitched”, a two best-selling novels.
She moved to L.A. with her boyfriend Sacha Baron Cohen, who encouraged her to work in comedy field as well. In the U.S. she started to develop her big-screen career, making her film debut in “Scooby-Doo”.
