This blond angel was the first South African model that ever appeared in Sports Illustrated – American edition. Genevieve Morton was born in 1986 in Benoni in South Africa, the same city that gave us Charlize Theron.
She lived there until her 12th year when she moved with her family to Scottburgh, a small town on the South East Coast of KwaZulu. Her career started when she got the opportunity to appear for South African Sport Illustrated in 2008.
Settimio Benedusi was the one who shot her for that edition, and that took place in the Maldives. Next year she was invited to appear in the same magazine again. 2010 was the year when Genevieve debuted in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue and since then every year they called her again. In the 2011 it was Fiji issue, in 2012 Zambia issue, in 2013 Hayman Islands issue, in 2014 Switzerland issue and in 2015 it was Virgin Islands issue.
In 2011 South African Illustrated wanted her again, but this time she was on the cover of the magazine. This time she was shot by Jacques Weyers and the shooting took place in Seychelles. Inaugural issue of World Swimsuit South Africa was made in 2013 and it was shot in Zanzibar. Genevieve was the one who was on the cover once again. Next year she was presented through the lenses of Gavin Bond on the Seychels.
Morton’s dream is to become an actress and she is studding it so she could fulfill her dream. She would like someday to land a role in a comedy. After she moved to United States she appeared on Esquire show – Me in My Place, where the Esquire crew visited her at her apartment in New York. Genevieve made to two more covers – a South African GQ Soccer World Cup issue and GQ South Africa July 2014 issue.
FHM South Africa readers voted her as the sexiest woman in the world in 2012, and Sports Illustrated named her one of the top 50 swimsuit models of all times in the year 2014. As for television, Morton was a guest on David Letterman show, and for her acting dream she appeared in music video by Gavin DeGraw for the song Sweeter. Her mother died when she was 18 after 5 years of fight with terminal illness.
This left great impact on model, since she was very close to her mother. She does a charity work as well, in 2013 she run half-marathon to raise money for Autism Speaks. Genevieve is big fan of Knick and Rangers but she enjoys watching all kinds of sport. Her favorite place on the world she visited so far are Maldives.
