Emma Dumont is a young actress, dancer and model who is true prodigy. Even though she is only 21 years old she made a name for herself in movie and fashion industry. Emma Dumont was born as Emma Noelle Roberts in 1994 in Seattle, Washington.
Her parents signed her in at Pacific Northwest Ballet School when she was only 3 years old. She finished middle and high school in her hometown after what she continue her education online so she could pursue modeling and acting career.
Emma was only 6 years old when she started performing in theater, and she plays violin that she began to learn at age of 4. As a violinist she played with Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras. She participated in FIRST Robotic, and she is roller derby skater, so basically there is not much that this girl can’t do or did not do already. First movie she ever played in was True Adolescents that was filmed in 2007, and released in 2009. The second one was Dear Lemon Lima, filmed in 2008, released in 2009 also.
After first two roles and trying out as an actress, in 2010 she won V Magazine V A Model search contest, which brought her a contract with Ford Models. In the same year she did her first fashion week in New York. That show opened many doors for her, and after that she walked the runways in L.A., Hong Kong, Tokyo and many others cities. Emma appeared in American and Japan Elle, V Magazine, Figaro, Cosmopolitan HK and Spur magazines. In 2011 she landed her fist lead role.
It was Stephen Gaghan’s NBC pilot Metro that won Academy Award. Her co-stars in that show were Noah Emmerich and Jimmy Smits. The same year she got another leading part in ABC series Bunheads alongside of Sutton Foster and Kelly Bishop. Emma was Melanie Segal a dancer in the academy. The show lasted throughout 2012 and little bit in 2013. While filming Bunheads she worked on another project, an independent movie Nobody Walks, with Dylan McDermont, Jane Levy, John Krasinski and others.
In 2014 she appeared in Mind Games in one episode, and landed few less noticeable roles in TV movies and pilots. Her career in robotics started in 2011 when she went through FIRST Tech Challenge. Next year she switched to FIRST Robotic Competition with FRC Team 980 Thunderbots and in 2013 she became Team Captain, Driver and Mechanical Engineer. At the regional competition she made it to finale. In the 2014 Emma became a mentor to FRC Team 980 Thunderbots. In the meantime, during the 2013 she becomes one of the Wilhelmina Models after she signs a contract with them.
