John Forbes Nash, Jr. a famous mathematician who won Nobel prize but have been more famous because of the movie that was made about him – “Beautiful Mind”, died in a car crash along with his wife Alice. It happened in New Jersey on March 23.2015.

Russell Crowe played John in a movie about him, and did a great job portraying a mathematical genius fighting with schizophrenia. “Stunned…my heart goes out to John & Alicia & family. An amazing partnership. Beautiful minds, beautiful hearts.” This is a Russell’s message on twitter, which he posted as soon he heard the word.

The unfortunate couple just came back from Norway where John received top mathematics award. The accident happened in a taxi that picked them up from Newark airport, around 4:30 p.m.According to sergeant Williams that came to the scene accident happened when taxi driver trying to pass another car in the central lane, lost control over the vehicle and crash into guard rail. Both John and Alice fly out of the car which indicate that they did not wore seat belts.

The driver ended up in hospital with injuries, but nothing critical.Doctor Nash was 81 and his wife 82.The New York Times notes, “Dr. Nash was widely regarded as one of the great mathematicians of the 20th century, known for the originality of his thinking and for his fearlessness in wrestling down problems so difficult few others dared tackle them. A one-sentence letter written in support of his application to Princeton’s doctoral program in math said simply, ‘This man is a genius.’”

He won Nobel Prize in economic sciences before he become mathematician. His field in mathematics was game theory which he revolutionized. Both of them, John and Alice advocated for people with mental illness. A true loss, R.I.P. Doctor Nash.
